He said: “We want to have a competitive team that can be able to compete on the continental stage.

“So, we are not buying bonya, but real big fish, we are building an era of galacticos at Wanderers”

He also said the Nomads are not yet done on the transfer market.

“There could be one or two more, including one big fish. So, watch this space,” he said.

Chaziya has become the sixth new-signing at Lali Lubani Road after goalkeeper Dalitso Khungwa and defender Emmanuel Nyirenda from Mighty Wakawaka Tigers, winger Gaddie Chirwa from Blue Eagles,  midfilder Mphatso Kamanga from Karonga United and striker Christopher Kumwembe from Civil Service United.

The towering defender,  who has joined the Nomads following the expiry of his season-long deal with  top-flight Jordan side Al Hussein Irbid SC, said he was excited to be a Nomad.

He said: “Wanderers is a big team. I can assure the Wanderers family that they should expect the best from me.

“I thank God for everything He has done for me.”

Coach Mark Harrison said by signing big-name players, the club has made “a big statement on our ambitions”.

He said: “By signing quality players, the club has made a statement that it wants to be competitive.

“Our ambitions are big both on the local and continental scenes as we also want to join CAF tournament.”
